Les attentes qu\u2019une personne a envers son r\u00e9tablissement sont un pr\u00e9dicteur fort connu dans le domaine de la r\u00e9adaptation. Jusqu\u2019\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, des milliers d\u2019articles scientifiques ont fait preuve de l\u2019importance incontestable qu\u2019ont les attentes de r\u00e9tablissement sur le r\u00e9tablissement apr\u00e8s une blessure. Plusieurs questionnaires rigoureux et exhaustifs ont \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7us pour \u00e9valuer ces attentes. Pourtant, les cliniciens et chercheurs ne les utilisent pas. Les contraintes de temps et un syst\u00e8me de sant\u00e9 engorg\u00e9 rendent ces outils d\u2019\u00e9valuation difficile \u00e0 impl\u00e9menter \u2014 voire inutilisables. En 2022, notre \u00e9quipe de recherche a r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 identifier une seule et unique question qui remplacerait toutes ces \u00e9valuations : \u00ab\u2009Quelle est la probabilit\u00e9 que vous retourniez au travail\u2009?\u2009\u00bb. Exit les longs questionnaires fastidieux : les attentes de r\u00e9tablissement peuvent dor\u00e9navant \u00eatre \u00e9valu\u00e9es en quelques secondes, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 cette seule question. Cette d\u00e9couverte a le potentiel de transformer les pratiques en r\u00e9adaptation puisque cette simple question permet de rapidement identifier les personnes chez qui l\u2019arr\u00eat de travail suivant une blessure a deux fois plus de risque de se prolonger. Dor\u00e9navant, une question s\u2019impose puisqu\u2019elle permettra d\u2019optimiser les soins en r\u00e9adaptation et ainsi de r\u00e9duire l\u2019incapacit\u00e9 au travail : \u00ab Quelle est la probabilit\u00e9 que vous retourniez au travail\u2009?\u2009\u00bb<\/h5>

How we communicate our pain when we think it's unfair matters<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Is chronic pain fair? Does anyone deserve it? Research shows that when a person feels as though their pain is unfair they tend not do recover as well from their injury. Perceived injustice, the \u201cWhy me?\u201d pattern of thought, can lead to a cascade of negative outcomes, including more pain, disability and medication use, including strong opioid analgesics. Our team sought to understand why people who perceive their pain as unfair are more likely to have prescriptions for opioid analgesics. As it turns out, the more people perceive their pain as unfair, the more likely they are to engage in pain behaviors. Pain behaviors are a form of communication to express suffering through actions such as rubbing, limping, grimacing, etc. As a result, physicians may perceive more suffering and in turn, prescribe opioid analgesics. Given the opioid crisis and dangers associated with opioid prescription, it is critical for physicians to be aware of behaviors before considering prescribing opioids for chronic pain.<\/span><\/h5>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
