Junie Carriere, PhD, is a pain psychologist and postdoctoral research fellow at Harvard University, Brigham and Women's hospital. She completed her Bachelor's degree at Bishop's University, her PhD at McGill University, and a research internship at Stanford University.
Junie specialises in understanding how emotions, thoughts and feelings interact and affect the pain experience. Her goal is to make pain psychology accessible to everyone and to share the tools that can empower people to take control of their pain experience.

Unfortunately, not everyone has access to a pain psychologist when suffering from pain. In her blog, Pain Explained, Junie shares scientific-based information from her own research and other reseach published in peer-reviewed academic journals. She is committed to sharing her knowledge with anyone who wants to learn how to manage their pain.
